Preventive care

Cleanings and checkups that keep you healthy.

Keeping your teeth and gums healthy is the reason most people see a dentist. It is the heart of what we do.

What we offer

Everything included in a healthy-mouth visit.

A preventive visit is more than a cleaning. Here is what we look at and take care of.

Professional cleanings

We remove plaque and tartar that brushing misses, then polish for a smooth, clean feel.

Diagnostic x-rays

X-rays help us find decay, bone loss, cysts and other problems that cannot be seen with the eye alone.

Gum disease evaluation

We check the gums and the bone around your teeth for early signs of periodontal disease, and treat it when found.

Tooth decay exam

Every tooth surface is checked for decay so small cavities can be fixed before they grow.

Oral cancer screening

A careful check of the face, neck, lips, tongue, throat and gums for any warning signs.

Fluoride and sealants

Extra protection for teeth that are prone to cavities, for kids and adults.

76%
What patients tell us

Most people see a dentist for one simple reason.

In a survey of more than 100,000 private dental patients, 76% said the main reason they see a dentist is to keep their teeth and gums healthy. The next thing they wanted most was a friendly dentist and team. That is exactly how we run this practice.

Questions

Common questions

How often do I need a cleaning?

For most people, every six months. If you have gum disease or other concerns, we may suggest visits every three or four months to keep things under control.

Are dental x-rays safe?

Yes. Modern dental x-rays use a very low dose of radiation, and we only take them when they help us care for you.

What are the signs of gum disease?

Bleeding when you brush or floss, red or puffy gums, bad breath that will not go away and gums pulling back from teeth. Gum disease is treatable, especially when caught early.

Do you take my insurance?

Call us and we will check your plan before your visit. If you do not have insurance, ask about our in-house plan and financing options.
